Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj are currently dominating the iTunes music charts, and there’s no sign of them slowing down soon.
Minaj currently holds the No. 6 spot for her song “Rich Sex (featuring Lil Wayne)”. Meanwhile, Grande’s song “Dance To This” with Troye Sivan is at No. 2, and her own track “No Tears Left To Cry” is at No. 7. Today, Minaj and Grande’s new summer bop “Bed” is already charting as one of the top 10 singles as well.
The sensual song is expected to appear on Minaj’s new album Queen which drops August 10. Other singles that have been released from the album include “Chun Li“, “Barbie Tingz”, and of course “Rich Sex”.
“Bed” is the latest feminist anthem that’s come after Minaj’s split with love interest and fellow rapper Nas. Minaj was recently quoted telling Elle that she is single and her new album Queen is about “it being okay to keep your legs closed.”
The female rapper opened up to the glossy magazine about how her life changed after she realized she didn’t need to be in a relationship for fulfillment. As such, it appears that Minaj is playing the field, and that’s definitely apparent in the lyrics she’s been writing.
“Yo, he in my startin’ five, he get the city live,” Minaj raps in “Bed”.
“Coulda put Zayn on it, but I put your name on it.”
This isn’t the first time Ariana and Nicki have turned out bedroom bops.
In 2016, the dynamic duo came out with their successful song “Side To Side”, which discussed sexual encounters that are so rough they leave you “walking from side to side.” The song held the #1 slot on Billboard’s Pop Charts in 2016.
It looks like “Bed” could be just as successful, if not more, than their previous chart topper.
