Bikinis Just Keep Getting Tinier

Swimsuit season is upon us, and the teeny bikinis that have been and trending in swimwear are not for the shy or conservative—especially the ones by Basic Swim.

Today, Basic Swim launched a steamy summer ad campaign, shot by the New York-based photographer David Alexander Flinn to promote the brand’s best-selling “La Premiére” bikini.

The swim line’s sexpot founder Jesse Andrews chose Devon Carlson to front this season’s Baywatch-meets-woodworker campaign images. In them, Carlson busts out of micro-sized bikinis that look like they could snap off at any given moment. She wears a tool belt and safety goggles in a few of the sweaty shots, for, you know, safety reasons.

Since it launched in March 2016, the LA-based label has taken a less-is-more approach to dressing for the warm weather. Far from what we usually associate with the word “basic,” this swimwear line has become famous for its cheeky designs.

Some of the brand’s best customers are scantily-clad models like Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Kaia Gerber, and Kylie Jenner, who have all been spotted in the Basic Swim bikinis. The latter Jenner famously brought the young label into the spotlight in 2016, when she posed in the brand’s peach-colored suit on a far-flung vacation to Turks & Caicos.

The “La Premiére” tops are available in a variety of hues like cherry red, mint, peach, black, yellow, and more. At a friendly price point of $38 and $40 for tops and bottoms, respectively, the suit is perfect for mixing and matching.
