Summer is quickly approaching, which means NOW is the time to buy a brand-new bikini, one-piece, wrap, sarong, etc.. If you’ve already bought your summer swimwear, buy more. I mean, what’s going to happen? (Having multiple options never hurt anyone.)
Worried about cash? Don’t be. There are literally hundreds of brands (and independent designers!) selling one-of-a-kind swimsuits—yes, the whole thing; not just the top or the bottom—for less than $100. Unsure of where to look? Here are a few of my favorites.
The one-piece is back and it’s more affordable than ever.
From ultra-femme floral prints to ruffles, straps, and peek-a-boo cutouts, the one-piece bathing suit has suddenly become chic (and dare I say, modern?).
When I was younger, the one-piece swimsuit had a bad rap. Back then, only the nerdy girls wore one-piece suits whereas the popular crowd flaunted around the beach in what my younger-self thought of as super-stylish bikinis. I wasn’t allowed to wear a two-piece until I was older. Now that I’m a real adult, however, there’s no doubt in my mind that the one-piece suit deserves some serious praise. (Thank you, Farrah Fawcett.) Plus, a one-piece gives me the opportunity to kind-of hide my endo-belly, if necessary.
The two-piece bikini isn’t going anywhere.
Sure, the one-piece has made its way onto the runway, but that doesn’t mean the bikini is out. (I mean, I don’t think the two-piece suit will ever go out of style.) The best news? With these super-affordable prices, you don’t have to choose—you can buy both! I know I’m going to.
