The best part about NYFW isn’t the influencers, the street style, the parties or the insane outfits–it’s the new collections. Buyers, it-girls and editors come from far and wide to see their favorite designers showcase what they’ve been working on for months.
Because this NYFW is for Fall/Winter collections, this predicts what we will be wearing the next time it gets cold, which is funny because in most places it’s super cold!
Sometimes it’s easy to guess what next season holds for the world of fashion, but every now and then there are revelation models/color palettes and fabrics that surprise everyone around the world.
How does one predict what the future of fashion holds? While we don’t exactly know, we can think about what we’d like to see: sustainability, inclusivity and people being nice to each other. These seem like huge mountains to climb, but with mindfulness and thoughtfulness, there’s still hope that this industry has a place for everyone.
Some brands that we always look forward to are Area, Christoper John Rogers, Collina Strada, Eckhaus Latta, Sandy Liang, Priscavera and Marc Jacobs. Those are essentially the pioneers of modern day fashion, creating a place for real beauty and using tenderness to spread their inspiring collections.
Because a lot of brands wait until the last minute to finalize their collections and shows, we’ve rounded up some designers that we are really looking forward to seeing during the next couple of weeks.
Another thing to note is that a lot of brands don’t show during this time of year and prefer to post their look-books via different fashion platforms. Whether you’re a new-comer to the industry or someone (like me) who lives and breathes fashion, all I can say is that there is something for everyone and your style should make you feel like the best version of yourself.
