Cardi B Announced Her Pregnancy In A Very Cardi Way

Leave it to Cardi B to coin a new iconic meme while announcing her pregnancy. In response to a fan asking about her pregnancy on Instagram, she responded with “let me fat in peace.” But then on this week’s Saturday Night Live, Cardi B debuted her baby bump in a clingy, gauzy white dress while singing “Be Careful”.

After weeks of speculation, the 25-year-old rapper announced she was expecting her first child with fiancé Offset. But before she showed the world her baby bump on SNL, Cardi teased us with over-the-top puffy dresses. TMZ first reported a few weeks ago that she was expecting her first child, and as she walked off the stage Saturday night, in a very cute video, she waved her arms and said, “I’m finally free.”

She posted to Instagram stories, explaining that she kept the news private because “People be so thirsty to scrutinize and try to destroy” her big news. A few hours after her pregnancy reveal, Cardi tweeted,“I started winning when the whole world was doubting on me !think imma lose with my little baby counting on me?” Offset tweeted out, “Cardi and I look forward to our next chapter together.”

In other Cardi B news, a GQ interview just dropped where Cardi confirmed her Blood gang affiliations, talked about her relationship with Offset, and perhaps most importantly, we learned that the 25-year-old rapper knows her U.S. presidents very well — like better than most of us. She challenged GQ writer Caity Weaver to name any president. (Weaver says Buchanan and Cardi says instantly, “He was the 15th president.”)

In the interview, she also talks about receiving butt injections from a woman in her basement who later went on to possibly kill somebody, and she talks earnestly about her unique vocal patterns. In an almost emotional honest moment, she says she feels insecure about her pronunciations when she’s recording in the studio (which is nuts because we can all agree, as Weaver writes, that English sounds way more fun when Cardi speaks it.)

Read the full interview here, and in the meantime, get very excited for Cardi B’s Bardi Baby.
