Cardi B Breaks Tradition, Shares Details of New Music With Selena Gomez

Cardi B is anything but traditional. The Bronx-born stripper-turned-singer has spun gold out of hay, as evidenced by her undeniable success. And despite the fact that she’s taking an extended postpartum break from touring with Bruno Mars, that hasn’t stopped her from working on new music. Today, Cardi announced that she just finished working on a music video with Selena Gomez, DJ Snake, and Ozuna.

While most artists wait to reveal their work with the intention of creating shock value, Cardi is the opposite. She’s up front and wants fans to know about her new project.

“I just finished filming this video for DJ Snake, featuring Ozuna and Selena Gomez,” she said. “I love the song, I love the video.”

In her video, Cardi also shamelessly plugged the gifts DJ Snake, Ozuna, and her lawyer recently bought for her daughter Kulture, which included a ton of kid-sized Gucci pieces. Jennifer Le, a shoe and fur designer, also got a shoutout for making Kulture a custom fur jacket that reads “Bardi Gang” on the back.

“So poppin’ for my Kulture Wulture,” she said in the video. “Shit, I want this for me.”

In July, she gave birth to her daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus with husband Offset. Everyone has been dying to see pictures of Kulture, but Cardi’s keeping them under wraps. She teased the audience at the VMA’s last Sunday when she pretended to reveal a first look at Kulture. This past week, she and Offset did offer a glimpse at their newborn daughter. Literally, a glimpse.
