The claws were out on Friday night at the Harper’s Bazaar “Icons” party. New York Fashion Week’s most high-profile event heated up when Cardi B threw her shoe at Nicki Minaj. Things have been tense between the two New York rappers for awhile now, but the final straw came when Cardi heard that Nicki was questioning her parenting skills.
“I’ve let a lot of s*** slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me …But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are f***in off!!,” Cardi said to Nicki in a message after the altercation, according to TMZ.
She continues, “I’ve worked hard and come too far to let anybody f*** with my success!!!! Bitches talk about all that s**** in they raps but in real life are p***y!!,” referring to when Nicki dissed Cardi on “Ganja Burns” and other tracks.
It all started when Cardi apparently approached Nicki’s table at the Harper’s event, and according to a “source” close to her, she wanted “to address the lies Nicki was spreading,” about her daughter Kulture. Initially, she did not intend to throw any punches until she was elbowed in the brow by Nicki’s security detail. At that point, Cardi launched her shoe towards Nicki.
Like a true “Queen,” Nicki responded by not flinching. Cameras even caught shots of Nicki waving and blowing kisses to fans as she exited the event, and entered her black SUV.
