Cardi B’s come up in the music industry is undeniable. But while her songs, like “Bodak Yellow” and “Money,” continue to top charts, Cardi remains consistent in her style. Exhibit A: Cardi’s unwavering loyalty to the “ultra fast fashion” brand Fashion Nova, which she’s been faithfully wearing since the brand launched in 2014. Cardi tells Business of Fashion, “[Fashion Nova is] always loyal to me. It’s like a friendship now,” ahead of the launch of her own Fashion Nova line on November 15.
“I want to make these women look so happy — so radiant, sexy, so corporate and poppin’. I want them to look like they’re wearing Gucci and Prada, but they’re not, they’re wearing my line,” she adds. Cardi herself has become a master of pairing Fashion Nova with high-end brands, like Balenciaga, creating a trendy but attainable aesthetic. In doing so, she’s breaking down the barriers that distinguish “good” and “bad” taste, proving that authenticity is always the best look.
A shoe line doesn’t seem too far off of the horizon, either. “I definitely want to branch out into shoes. I love shoes. I have a big fetish for shoes.”
