Love makes the world go round, and in the sartorial sense so does denim. This is the ethos behind Rialto Jean Project, Erin Feniger’s philanthropic jean brand benefiting children’s art therapy programs. Inspired by the artistic community in Venice Beach, Erin wanted to channel the imaginative, creative, and healing powers of painting in a wearable product. She sources vintage American denim and hand paints each pair to make a unique, one-of-a kind piece. The shop at South Street Seaport is like waltzing into a painter’s studio; camo jackets declaring “MAKE FASHION NOT WAR” hang alongside and paint-splatter skinnies and embroidered skirts. Nothing beats the perfect jeans we’ve loved to threads, and that emotional connection is exactly what she’s tapping into. Worn by denim lovers and do-gooders alike, you’ll make a statement in RJP with a beautiful backstory to boot. Go inside the studio with Erin, and start wearing your heart on your jeans.
