It’s been a successful year for Japanese designer Masayuki Ino and his brand doublet. In June, Ino took home the LVMH Prize for his designs, beating out other rising designers like Ludovic de Saint Sernin and Matthew Adams Dolan. This illustrious honor distinguishes Ino’s designs as “ones to watch,” which is probably one reason Valentino has tapped the designer to collaborate on a range of clothing.
doublet has already taken to Instagram to tease its forthcoming line of clothing with Valentino, which launches on Tuesday, November 27th. From what we can tell, we can expect to see a few co-branded hoodies that use doublet’s signature embroidery technique.
“We really appreciate that #Valentino team and @sarahandelman gave us a splendid opportunity. Thank you very much,” doublet captioned a photo of the collection on Instagram, thanking Colette founder Sarah Andelman for bringing the two, unlikely brands together.
The collection will be available at Valentino Ginza and Dover Street Market, also in Ginza, on November 27.
