Elon Musk and Grimes Unfollowed Each Other on Social Media

It looks like the Tesla CEO and the musician have unfollowed each other on Instagram, and Musk unfollowed Grimes on Instagram early Sunday. As of Sunday afternoon, Grimes was still following Musk on Twitter. Spokespeople for Musk and Grimes declined to comment to Business Insider, but there is speculation about the couple’s status.

It’s been a difficult few weeks for Musk, starting with the news that he called a Thai cave rescuer a “pedo” and, more recently, a strange series of events with Azealia Banks. Tweets she posted allege that she spent weekend alone in Musk’s mansion and that he was on acid when he sent his $420 tweet. The tweet suggested that he was taking his company Tesla private at $420 per share. A weed joke, you’d think, but according to Musk, it was because it seemed like “better karma at $420 than at $419.”

The couple reportedly met on Twitter, bonding over a joke about artificial intelligence, and made their debut together at the Met Gala in May. What’s going on in the Musk-verse? Hard to say, but Ariana Huffington had some suggestions for the entrepreneur, saying that he’s been working too much.

“So Elon, the future of Tesla depends on you coming up with your masterpiece,” Huffington wrote. “It doesn’t depend on how many hours you’re awake. Tesla — and the world (not to mention you and your beautiful children) — would be better off if you regularly built in time to refuel, recharge and reconnect with your exceptional reserves of creativity and your power to innovate.”

Not bad advice, and in the meantime, we’re waiting to hear the status on Grimes and Musk.
