The seven-minute tutorial is all about evening out your complexion—a tricky thing to achieve with foundation—and professor dancer and choreographer Ysabelle Capitulé guides us through. In the video, she describes herself as “permanently jet-lagged” and “constantly sweating.”
Capitulé, who appeared in Bruno Mars and Cardi B’s “Finesse” music video and also choreographed a dance to Rihanna’s “Skin.” The tutorial starts off with her applying Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer, followed up matte tan Match Stix as a concealer. After that, she applied Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filt’r foundation in shade 350 and, finally, set everything with finishing powder.
And if you want some special touches for a night out—or in Capitulé’s case, a dance performance—liquid liner, contouring, and cream shadow are all applied. It’s cool to see Fenty drop a tutorial that strikes a balance between acne positivity and owning the fact that sometimes, a light swipe of foundation or concealer is what you need to feel good. Capitulé and Fenty show us just the right middle ground. Leave it to Rih to help us feel our best.
