The stars shut down the Champs-Élysées for L’Oréal’s show
Jezebel reports that Mirren “sauntered down the runway in wide-leg grey trousers and a button-down coat to the Chainsmokers’ ‘Paris,’ jauntily swinging a cane which she’d occasionally use to gesture at a lucky audience member.” Fonda wore a tiger-print, floor-length gown from Balmain, flashing peace signs, high-fiving models, and stopping to greet Naomi Campbell with a kiss as she walked down the runway.
Set against the Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile, the show was a deliciously over-the-top spectacle full of fashion superstars. Looks from Balmain, Sonia Rykiel, Isabel Marant and more were accompanied by Chopard jewels in the beauty brand’s first-ever Paris Fashion Week show. Mirren and Fonda were joined by runway regulars like Soo Joo Park, Winnie Harlow, Maria Borges, and more, who were showing off 70 beauty looks by L’Oréal’s global makeup director, Val Garland.
An already star-filled show was amped up even more by the presence of pop star Cheryl Tweedy, making her first runway appearance since the birth of her son Bear with One Direction’s Liam Payne, as well as Chinese pop legend Chris Lee. The inclusive show was filled with energy, buoyancy and mirth — a much-needed reminder that fashion can be fun.
