There will be six Hello Kitty shoes, with three Converse models — two different designs each for the Chuck Taylor All Star, One Star, and Chuck 70. Prices will vary on the sneaks that will be available on converse.com. Hello Kitty has been a style icon for a minute now, her red-pink-and-white aesthetic gracing various collections, from last year’s Puma collaboration to Lazy Oaf’s sugary-sweet capsule.
Hello Kitty first appeared on a vinyl coin purse way back in 1975, and she’s been pretty much everywhere since then. She even appeared on screen as a conductor during Frank Ocean’s Lovebox Festival headline slot last summer. Hello Kitty joins the ranks of former Converse collaborators like Rei Kawakubo, Virgil Abloh, Missoni, and more.
She talked to i-D about the collection and, um, maintaining her youth. What’s her elixir? “Making people happy, having fun with friends and family, taking time to smell the flowers, and enjoying life to the fullest!” On partnering with Converse: “Everything from the collection is supercute! The pink high tops are especially sweet!”
