Working from home is beginning to be a drag… but it doesn’t have to be! Instead of staying in your pajamas and slippers all day, might I suggest playing dress up to cure those quarantine blues?
Everyday I’ve been trying to put on a fun outfit because it seems to be one of the best ways I’ve been able to express myself when it feels like the world around me is falling apart.
But how does one person motivate themselves to get up, get dressed and be productive? The best advice I can give is to not put too much pressure on yourself. Baby steps. If you’re having a hard time getting out of your pajamas, try keeping your pj top on and putting on ‘real’ pants. Things can only go up from there and soon you’ll be wearing jeans or a skirt or a cocktail dress.
Working from home also gives the option to completely disregard the weather and wear exactly what you’ve always wanted to wear, no matter the season. Feel like wearing a bikini? Do it! Feel like taking out your prom dress and drinking wine before 5pm? Also a great option.
The key to making sure working from home is as pleasant as it can be is to remind yourself that it won’t always be this way and that there isn’t anything that a cute pair of shoes can’t fix. If Carrie Bradshaw can work from home in her Manolo’s, you can work from home in your favorite vintage two piece suit.
You got this! And remember, you can always put your pajamas back on, OR you can figure out a fun way to make your pajamas into the most fashionable look your mirror has ever seen 😉
