What Makes Soludo’s Nick Brown Happy?

“Is this gonna bring a smile to someone’s face?” That’s what Nick Brown thinks every time he designs a shoe. He started Soludos in 2010 as a homegrown project, delivering espadrilles from his West Village apartment. The brand has since then achieved international status and is basically synonymous in the fashion world with the traditional 14th century shoe. The brand has given the heritage style an eye-catching update – whether it’s tacking on a tassel or giving it leather huarache-style upper. Whit, whimsy, clean and classic is how Brown describes his line and the inspiration of daily city life in New York. Just in time for summer, slide on a pair.
