Kat Irlin sees the world differently: having grown up in St. Petersburg, Russia, the New York City photographer draws inspiration for her dream-like photographs from the architecture and the art in the cities she’s lived within and traveled to. Known to most as Kat in NYC, Insta-famous photographer has used her strong images to cultivate a following of 1.4 million people across the world. Having established a name for herself in the fashion industry and beyond, Kat has worked for some of the top brands and publishers, including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Calvin Klein, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Paper.
Kat wasn’t always working as a fashion and lifestyle photographer, though. Originally, she had studied finance at university. After graduating and working at her desk job in Human Resources for some time, she began experimenting with her true passion: photography. Eventually, she took the leap and became a full-time photographer after realizing that her passion could be turned into a sustainable profession.
