The Celebrity Makeup Artist That Starts Her Day With Rap & Face Masks

Very few moments in the day are as bare as the moment you wake up. We each have our own kinks and quirks that help us get out of bed, but few of us are brave enough to share them with the world. Introducing A Cool Morning, a deep dive into the intimate daytime rituals of our coolest friends and beauty innovators.

Jamie Greenberg is far from your regular celebrity makeup artist. Yes, she may have worked with red carpet staples like Rashida Jones, Christina Applegate, and Joey King; yes, she may work alongside coveted makeup brands like COVER FX; but, at the end of the day (or rather, the beginning), she keeps it real.

When she’s not running out the door to paint celebrity faces to perfection, she’s doing the usual: dropping off her kids at school wearing a face mask (we love a multitasker), partaking in an “insane” workout, and, of course, glamming herself up with her go-to skin and makeup routine in her own mini makeup house (yes, really). Below, we take a deeper look at this beauty veteran’s morning regimen.

What’s the first thing you do every morning?

Make a cup of coffee! Espresso with caramel flavor is my go-to. I also try to do an 11-minute meditation before my kids wake up.

Do you have a morning workout routine?

I do! I workout with a personal trainer after I drop my kids off at school. The workout is insane and people think I’m crazy for doing it—it’s like I’m training for the Olympics. But why not go hard if you’re going to workout? You might as well get the most out of it.

Shower at-night, morning, or both?

Both!

Daily alarm time? How many times do you hit snooze?

I usually wake up at about 6:30 a.m. and I DON’T hit snooze!

If you’re running late, what’s the one thing you have to do?

Grab a rice cake with almond butter.

Favorite breakfast?

A rice cake with almond butter everyday!

Weirdest morning beauty habit?

Dropping off my kids at school with a full face mask on.

What does your morning hair-care routine look like?

I love to wash my hair with Kristin Ess, it’s affordable and really good. I then blow dry my hair and flatiron with a T3. I have a Brazilian blowout, and it’s cut down my styling time so much.

How much time do you spend on your skincare routine?

I spend a lot of time. My cleanser is iS Clinical, I love using the Cover FX Super Power Booster Drops as my serum, and Joanna Vargas’ daily hydrating cream.

How long do you usually take to get ready for the day?

About half an hour.

What’s the one product you could never leave the house without putting on?

SPF for sure. The Cover FX SPF Drops are my go-to right now.

The first word/thing that popped into your head this morning?

Coffee!

Your favorite morning read?

The Skimm.

What’s on your nightstand right now?

Sisely hand cream and a S’well bottle with ice cold water.

What’s the current ringtone on your alarm?

“Back That Ass Up.”

Coffee, tea, or go-to morning drink?

Coffee

What’s the last thing you did before you headed out the door today?

Warmed my skin up with the Sunkissed shade of the Cover FX Monochromatic Bronzer Duo. I always love having a healthy glow no matter what type of makeup I’m wearing.
