A West coast transplant, Jessica Wu has made New York City her home over the past few years. Between styling, creative directing, and working as e-commerce head at former Celine designer Peter Do’s new namesake line, Wu leads a busy life. But that doesn’t mean her outfits aren’t always on-point. A proponent of comfort and practicality, Wu shares her style essentials, her favorite New York boutiques, and the brands she’s currently obsessed with below.
What neighborhood do you live in?
Jessica Wu: “The Upper West Side.”
Where are your favorite places to shop?
JW: “I’m big on vintage, so a lot of my closet is my mom’s clothing and sourced from different stores throughout my travels. In New York, I love The Break, Either And, and Dana Foley. California also has the best thrifting! I stopped shopping fast-fashion a few years ago and haven’t turned back.”
What brands are you loving right now?
JW: “Peter Do, the brand I work for (you’ll always find me wearing our clothes!), Saks Potts, and Sies Marjan.”
What are your go-to outfit essentials?
JW: “A classic handbag that my grandma probably gave me, a black miniskirt, and white ankle boots.”
Tell us your style philosophy.
JW: “Comfort is a big factor in my sartorial decisions, because my life involves so much running around. But that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style—I’ll wear my favorite statement-making coat with easy jeans and sneakers.”
