Kanye Cried at Virgil Abloh’s First Louis Vuitton Fashion Show

I’m not crying, you’re crying. That’s the general sentiment among Kanye West and Virgil Abloh fans right now. The two artists just hugged it out at the end of Abloh’s first fashion show as men’s artistic director of Louis Vuitton. Video footage shows Kanye bleary eyed and wiping away tears as Abloh takes his final bow on the runway.

Kim Kardashian, along with Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott were all in attendance as well. And talk about full circle: Kanye’s song “Ghost Town” played in the background as he and Abloh embraced on Thursday afternoon in Paris.

Good morning. Here is a pic of Virgil hugging Kanye and crying after his first Louis Vuitton men’s show. Ye paved the way. If you know, you know,” tweeted one fan.

Obviously this was a intimate moment for the two. Kanye has helped to support Abloh throughout the better part of his career. The two have been working together since before 2010, when Kanye hired Abloh to be creative director for his brand Donda. And earlier this week, Abloh took to Instagram to thank Ye by posting a photo of the Chicago rapper captioned “‘the architect of it all’“.

“the architect of it all”

Twitter was quick to deflate the rumored strife between Abloh and Kanye. In April, Kanye opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about losing his creative collaborator to Louis Vuitton, saying, “It’s not bad or good, it’s my creative collaborator being the head of Louis Vuitton“. But clearly, Ye’s statements were more sentimental than angry.

Fans were also sure to check fellow rapper Drake, who has been throwing shade at the G.O.O.D Music rapper.

One fan wrote, “‘I can never have a Virgil in my circle and hold him back because he makes nervous’ … man f—ck Drake for talking about shit he know nothing about.. does this look like Kanye held Virgil back??”

The general consensus among Ye’s fans? Absolutely not. And if Kanye’s tears are any indication, he is supremely proud of Abloh, his master collaborator.
