To say Karl Lagerfeld was one of the fashion industry’s leading visionaries is an understatement. He singlehandedly turned luxury houses Chanel and Fendi into the fashion behemoths they are today, and his footprint on style will be celebrated for centuries. Though Lagerfeld may have passed away earlier this year, he left us one last gift to unwrap.
According to WWD, Lagerfeld teamed up with beauty conglomerate L’Oréal Paris to create a collaborative, exclusive makeup collection before his passing. The line is meant to showcase his “rock-chic style, fused with a sense of Parisian elegance,” reflecting the bold and innovative spirit we loved from his past collections.
“This line of makeup truly reflects the Karl Lagerfeld brand universe and what Karl loved in makeup,” Caroline Lebar, head of image and communication at the Karl Lagerfeld fashion house, told WWD. “Karl liked it when a collaboration resonated with a brand and would make a real impact on many people.”
While the line-up and pricing of the upcoming collection is tightly under wraps, expect the collection to be sold online starting September 20 and in stores globally on September 27, coordinating with Paris Fashion Week.
