It’s easy being green, just ask Kim Kardashian, who dyed her long, butt-skimming locks a neon green shade last week. While she was in Miami with her pal Larsa Pippen, Kardashian decided to match her hair to her green Lamborghini.
In fact, neon green has become Kim’s favorite color of the moment. She recently stepped out in a lime green dress with Kanye. Her outfit (and his) both spurred reactions from fans. People balked at his sock and sandal combo, while others were fully gagging (in a good way) on Kim’s body-hugging dress. And now others are following her footsteps.
Today, SZA showed off a new look: neon green locks dressed in a “nude” bodysuit. SZA isn’t afraid of making visual statements, and we’re glad she isn’t. Seeing the bright green color on the “Broken Clocks” singer makes us want to consider trying the electric hue ourselves.
The only thing stopping us is that we’re not SZA, or Kim Kardashian—and the maintenance. Maintenance alone is reason enough to skip out on this hair trend, no matter how good it looks.
While we continue to contemplate this beauty fantasy, it can actually be your reality, assuming you live in Chicago or Atlanta. That’s where Dionte Gray aka “Arrogant Tae” aka SZA’s hair coloring genius is based. The wig-snatching stylist has worked with many celebrities to get their coifs just right.
And of course, Gray’s wigs are expensive. Like, cost-prohibitively expensive, ranging from $500 all the way to $1,000, and probably more depending on the client’s wishes. That’s likely chump change when you’re SZA, but a small fortune if you’re balling on a budget.
It makes sense that SZA would dye her hair green, though. She just announced a new line of sustainable clothing, called Ctrl Fishing Co., which she teased last week on Instagram. Ctrl, meant to abbreviate the word “control,” is the name of SZA’s most recent album.
“Who tryn save da ocean @ctrlfishingco,” SZA captioned the Instagram shot.
