Koché Announces A Soccer-Inspired Collaboration With Nike

Considering Koché’s Spring 2018 collection was a collaboration with the Paris Saint Germain football team, it makes sense that the breakout French label’s next stop would be Nike—and just in time for the Women’s World Cup this summer. At Tuesday’s show in Paris, Koché designer Christelle Kocher debuted 11 new pieces in partnership with the athletic giant.

Vogue reports the collaboration was timed with the lead-up to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will take place in France this June. “It’s exciting that our city will be the center of the sports world this summer between the French Open and the Women’s World Cup,” Kocher told Vogue. “I’m excited to see the global community come together with sport.”

Koché has become known for their romantic, theatrical take on streetwear, exemplified in the case of the Paris Saint Germain jerseys that spliced chantilly lace with moisture-wicking polyester. From the three Koché x Nike looks we’ve seen so far, that same patchwork effect blends black lace with colorful jerseys.

The collaboration completes a recent trifecta of avant-garde streetwear greatness, with Nike x Martine Rose launching on Craigslist (yes, Craigslist) in December and AMBUSH designer Yoon Ahn debuting a 14-piece collection in November.
