Cat Power and Lana Del Rey Team Up on a Dreamy New Song

Cat Power and Lana Del Rey have come to bless us all with a hazily seductive new song “Woman” from her forthcoming album Wanderer.

The album will be Chan Marshall’s first in six years, with her last project being 2012’s Sun. Del Rey released Lust for Life in 2012, and lately, she’s been palling around with Jack Antonoff. She posted a photo of the two donning matching cream suits with the mysterious caption “Hi!” on Twitter and “Just because.” on Instagram. Could the two be collaborating on some upcoming music? Fingers very much crossed.

In the meantime, Marshall and Del Rey’s song will give you a soothing, late summer sensation with its smokey vibes. “I’m a woman of my word,” Marshall sings, “Now haven’t you heard / My word’s the only thing I’ve ever needed.” Her next album Wanderer will be out October 5. In September, Power will embark on a tour around the U.S. and Europe.

Of her new album, Marshall says: “The course my life has taken in this journey—going from town to town, with my guitar, telling my tale; with reverence to the people who did this generations before me. Folk singers, blues singers, and everything in between. They were all wanderers, and I am lucky to be among them.”
