It’s been two years since Lohan got off probation for the first time in eight years, as Hollywood Reporter noted, and the company’s spokesperson proposition confused the actress at first. In the video released Tuesday, she says, “When Lawyer.com first reached out to me, I was confused, little scared, because I thought I was in trouble. But when they asked me to be their spokesperson, I was intrigued. After meeting with the team, I realized Lawyer.com is just about helping people.”
In all fairness, I, too, would think I was in trouble if Lawyer.com reached out to me. Continuing on in the video, Lohan says, “Lawyer.com is about protecting people. From getting a DUI — let’s not pretend like I didn’t get one … or two or three or some others.”
Lohan has had more than a few encounters with the law starting in 2007 when, in that year alone, she was in and out of rehab three times and slapped with multiple DUIs. She was also convicted of shoplifting a $2,500 necklace from a Venice jewelry store. Additionally, she’s been known to skip counseling sessions and not perform court-ordered community service. All of this considered I’m not sure if this makes her the best or worst candidate ever for Lawyer.com’s services.
Lohan ends the ad with a wink, saying “Because at Lawyer.com, we’re always here for you.”
Strange and befuddling press tends to follow the actress wherever she goes, from her defense of Harvey Weinstein to her LOHAN nightclub business venture to her tweet urging followers to stop “bullying” Donald Trump. Oh, Lindsay.
