The most anticipated movie of 2019, Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is edging ever closer: We have a release date, and now we have posters.
While there has been very little of information available about the film’s plot, we do know it stars Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio as Western TV star Cliff Booth and his stunt double Rick Dalton, respectively, as well as Sharon Tate (played by Margo Robbie)—the Hollywood bombshell who met a dire fate at the hands of Charles Manson and his supporters.
Robbie uploaded her solo poster to Instagram today (the Australian actress looks eerily similar to Tate), captioning the image, “Hollywood. 1969,” which may give us some clue to her story line. Tate was murdered on August 9, 1969, while pregnant with the child of director Roman Polanski. We can only assume Tarantino will have a grisly take on her death.
“I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was 7 years old,” Tarantino said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m very excited to tell this story of an LA and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio and Pitt as Rick and Cliff.”
The star power of this film alone is bound to break box office records, joining DiCaprio, Robbie, and Pitt to round out the cast will be Emile Hirsch, Kurt Russell, Dakota Fanning, and the late Luke Perry.
Lord help us when the trailer drops.
