The Daily Mail recently reported that Meghan Markle’s wardrobe currently costs £155,000. That’s the equivalent of a cool $203,304. Prior to marrying Prince Harry, Markle was responsible for covering the costs of her wardrobe. However, since she married Harry, she is now that covered by the family’s fund. And she’s really splurging.
Over the past few weeks, Markle has worn looks by high end designers like Dior, Prada, and Stella McCartney. To give an idea of exactly much her outfits are worth, the Dior dress that she wore to the RAF Centennial cost a tearjerking £4,020 (or $5,272).
By contrast, Kate Middleton spent approximately £119,000 in 2017, and roughly £100,000 in 2016.
But Middleton’s modesty isn’t stopping Markle from indulging her shopping addiction. In fact, add another $850 to Markle’s tab. Today, she stepped out in a nude colored, sleeveless trench dress by Canadian brand Nonie. The dress currently retails on the brand’s site for CA$1,085.
Nonie’s prices sit at a (somewhat) more accessible, contemporary level compared to some of Markle’s more extravagant ensembles. She wore the coat-dress to the Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition today, arm-in-arm with Prince Harry.
While Meghan Markle’s wardrobe might sound expensive, there’s also something to be said about the fact that Markle is an actress, and probably receives a lot of free clothing. Not to mention, many of the looks she’s worn are probably discounted, or possibly loaned for special occasions.
