Brooklyn’s first Supreme store opens tomorrow — and there’s a skate bowl

Tomorrow, October 5, Supreme’s newest location is opening in Williamsburg. This store will be the second Supreme storefront in New York City, following the brand’s SoHo flagship store on Lafayette Street, which opened in 1994.

If you haven’t already gotten your Supreme fix at your local Kmart, then you might want to stop by this location off the L train. The store, make no mistake, is massive — it’s big enough to house a full skate bowl at 3,000 square feet. According to WWD, the brand was practically forced to open a second location due to the public safety hazard that the crowds at its SoHo store can create when a new product drops.

The Brooklyn location will have the same trappings of other Supreme shops — artwork by Mark Gonzales and a wall of decks. One of New York’s first pro skaters, Jefferson Pang, will be the manager of the new location. Pang is a Supreme OG and one of the earliest members of the Zoo York skate team. He just finished a 10-year stint as National Sales Director at DC Shoes.

“In 1994 I was blessed to walk into the doors of Supreme on Lafayette on the grand opening day and met the founder and creator of this incredible brand and movement,” he wrote on Instagram. “20+ years later I’m proud to be at the helm of their newest location in my home borough of Brooklyn! Don’t get it twisted, I’ve been here since the 70s.”
