Yesterday, rumors circulated that pals Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj were in a tiff. The reason being? Minaj had moved up the launch date of her upcoming album Queen to August 17, the same date that Grande is dropping her new album Sweetener.
Grande was quick to shut the rumors down in an Instagram story, after taking some time off from the app.
“Jesus is this what’s going on today?,” Grande wrote. “Imma jus stop logging in at all lmfao. that’s my f—— sister. she’s clearing a sample. buy and stream Queen & Sweetener aug 17 bye. these numbers don’t mean as much to the artist as they do to y’all. jus want y’all to listen to the project.”
Grande and Minaj are both frequent collaborators and friends. They’ve worked together on hits like “Side to Side” and their new song “Bed”.
Since her surprise engagement to Pete Davidson, Grande has been on a social media hiatus after her fans clapped back at Davidson in the comments section of a post dedicated to Grande’s late grandfather.
Meanwhile, Davidson has been busy filming a new film with Machine Gun Kelly in upstate New York. He has also taken a break from Instagram in response to Grande fans’ comments.
