7 New Street Style Stars We’re Keeping Our Eye On

At its best, street style—an outfit that makes you practically stop in your tracks—is inspiring, in spite of the phrase. There is, after all, endless fashion week street style captured on Instagram and blogs (there are still blogs, right?). And while it’s mostly all very good, it can take a lot to attract the jaded fashion eye. Maybe it’s as sparkly and minute as a bedazzled hairpin spelling out “DAMN,” or maybe it’s as grandiose as a monochromatic look the shade of your brightest red lipstick.

Capturing street style has been around in various incarnations ever since Bill Cunningham first photographed a nutria coat in 1978. And though there are industry mainstays like Leandra Medine or Susie Lau whose outfits we continue to admire season after season, it’s the new faces that emerge each fashion week that get us most excited. Below, meet seven burgeoning street style stars who are making us look this New York Fashion Week.

Naomi Elizée / @naomielizeeA fashion market assistant for Vogue, Elizée mixes patterns exuberantly, like a houndstooth puffer with blue-and-black flannel. This Fashion Week, as one of her Instagram captions read, she’s living her best life in looks like a head-to-toe Pyer Moss getup featuring art by Derrick Adams.

Tiffany M. Battle / @tiffanymbattleBattle’s experimentation with tones and texture brings a much-needed pop of color to the mostly muted palette of street style. Whether it’s a #SlimeGreen2019 fanny pack slung over the shoulder or a metallic blue bomber layered over a trench, the chemical engineer-turned-style-influencer is a reminder that matching is for the birds.
