Rihanna is Back in the Studio Working on a New Album

Rihanna has been keeping busy in 2018. She’s starred in “Ocean’s 8”, launched Fenty Flyliner, and has been gearing up for her NYFW Savage X Fenty fashion show on September 12, in addition to her Diamond Ball the following evening.

Now, Ri is back in the studio, which she confirmed today with three different Instagram Story videos.

“We’re getting an album!,” wrote one excited fan on Twitter.

Back in July, multiple sources told Rolling Stone that Rihanna had new music in the works. Apparently Ri is working on two albums. In addition to a more pop-centric album, she’s rumored to be working on another new album that will be “devoted to exploring the singer’s Carribean roots”.

“[Rihanna’s team] have, no lie, 500 records for this project [from] different producers and writers,” a dancehall producer told RS. “They’re only choosing 10 records. They’ve been having writing camps and trying to keep them quiet for almost a year and a half now. I’ve been flying to Miami, flying to L.A., cutting records nonstop for this project.”

Elle notes that Rihanna told Vogue in June that she would be releasing a reggae album. No word yet on the release date of her new music, but new bops do seem to be underway.
