Meghan Markle can’t catch a break from her family. Her father, Thomas Markle, recently spoke to British tabloid The Sun about how he thinks Meghan is under too much stress in her new life as a royal family member. Apparently, her sister Samantha Markle had some strong opinions to share as well.
“How about you pay tribute to your own father?! Enough is enough. Act like a humanitarian act like a woman! If our father dies I’m holding you responsible, Meg! @KensingtonRoyal,” Samantha Markle (@SammyMarkle64) tweeted on her private Twitter account, which Cosmo verified with screenshots.
Yesterday, Markle was spotted wearing her new Nonie sleeveless, trench dress at a Nelson Mandela tribute. Markle’s flurry of public appearances has only fueled her father and sister’s antics.
Since Thomas Markle staged the paparazzi photos that got him uninvited from the royal wedding, he’s trying to get Meghan to talk to him. In multiple interviews, he has cited his ailing health as the reason for reaching out to Meghan.
His efforts have been in vain, as Harry and Markle have continued to ignore him.
A source recently told Entertainment Tonight, “[Harry and Meghan] are frustrated he keeps speaking to the tabloids and taking payment for interviews.”
While it is probably frustrating that Meghan is unreachable to her real family, her sister Samantha’s words are a bit unfair. Should Meghan reach out to her father? Probably. But is it right to use his health to publicly shame her? Probably not.
