The Select Incense Collection 单品香系列 The Select Collection of incense are made from a single ingredient. The original wood is manually sorted for impurities, ground into powder, combined with a natural wood powder binder, and then rolled into sticks. The incense have a singular, undistracted fragrance. All of our incense are made from all natural ingredients with no artificial enhancement. Each gift set contains 12 sticks of each of the three scents. Hui'an Aloeswood 惠安沉香 Aloeswood (沉香) is also referred to as agarwood, jinko (Japanese) or oud (Arabic). In Chinese, the name literally translates into "sinking wood", in reference to the fact that the it is formed when the Aquilaria tree is infected and produces a dark resin which causes the wood to become extremely dense, and sink in water. Aloeswood is possibly the most revered classic in Chinese incense culture. Its smell is complex and sophisticated, and the Hui'an family in particular is on the sweet and lighter side. It is regarded as a calming yet nourishing ingredient, also widely used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Main ingredients: Hui'an Aloeswood, Indonesian Nanmu powder Laoshan Sandalwood 老山檀香 Laoshan sandalwood (老山檀) literally translates into "old mountain sandalwood". It is thought to derive from traders referring to wood from older mountains in India, as distinct from newer countries and plantations. The sandalwood fragrance is has been prized world-over, and is a staple in Chinese incense culture, widely used by Chinese Buddhists. It has a warm and smooth smell often described as creamy or milky. Laoshan sandalwood in particular has a richer, yet gentle and long lasting smell. Sandalwood is known to not only calm and relax, but also have antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Main ingredients: Laoshan Sandalwood, Indonesian Nanmu powder Aged Cedar 崖柏香 Historically the most valued cedar in Chinese incense culture is the Ya Bai (崖柏), or Sichuan Thuja. Ya Bai means "cliff cedar" because the variety usually grows in the cracks of cliff rocks in high elevations. The tree excretes large amounts of resin to support its growth in the harsh environment, and is most desirable as an incense ingredient after it dies naturally and ages for a period in the natural environment. Ya Bai is unfortunately an endangered species today, so this aged Chinese Cedar incense is made from a related family of non-protected cedars, and has been chosen for a smell that is similar to the Ya Bai. The aged Chinese cedar incense has a warm, soothing yet clean smell. It can be used to refresh and detoxify the senses, and is also a pleasant companion for easing into a night of sleep. Caring For Your Candle Please read these before lighting your Amaura candle to get maximum longevity and aroma from your candle. ALLOW TO POOL Upon the first use, allow your candle to burn until the entire surface has turned to a liquid wax (approx. 2 hrs). This will help activate the memory of the wax, your essential oils and prolong the life of your candle to give the best fragrance throw. Always burn your candle for a maximum of 4 hours. You can relight your candle once the top solidifies. TRIM YOUR WICK Always trim your candle wick to 5 mm after each burn to ensure an even burn. This creates a good memory pattern for subsequent burns. Once your candle solidifies it may look a little lumpy or have air bubbles - don't worry it's a natural wax so this is the natural effect. This effect disappears once the candle is relit. USE YOUR CANDLE SAFELY Stop using your candle when 5mm of wax remains on the base. Place your candle on a flat heatproof surface. We recommend placing your candle on a coaster. Never leave children unattended near an open flame. Avoid drafts. VESSEL CARE & UPCYCLING Wipe your vessel with a microfibre cloth - no harsh chemicals are required. To upcycle your vessel, remove the remaining wax by placing the vessel in the freezer to harden and scrape the wax out. Or you can safely discard the remaining wax on your final burn and then immediately wipe the inside the vessel with a cloth and warm water to remove any residual liquid. - DO NOT throw wax down the sink or drainpipe.
