Mixed heritage beauty Skye Jones considers English, Armenian, and Saudi all a part of her ethnic and cultural upbringing. The photographer, now based in New York, brings her vision—occasionally highly aestheticized and other times completely down-to-earth—to her work as much as her style, a blend of glamorous party outfits and more casual day wear. We speak with Jones on the fun of “stumbling upon pieces” and all her favorite shopping destinations.
Where do you live?
SJ: “The Lower East Side!”
Where are your favorite places to shop?
SJ: “I don’t really have any places that I visit consistently. I usually just stumble upon certain pieces while I’m wandering around.”
What are brands are you loving right now?
SJ: “I really like this website called wconcept.org—they have loads of small boutique brands and independent designers from South Korea. I also love Eytys—I’ve been wearing their jeans for years.”
What are your go-to outfit essentials?
SJ: “A cool pair of pants and a chunky sneaker or boot.”
Tell us your style philosophy.
SJ: “Your best outfits are when you don’t overthink. It’s important to feel comfortable and yourself in what you wear.”
