Sounds COOL(S): Songs To Save You From Mercury Retrograde

You’re over your Spotify mixes, your YouTube playlists are becoming repetitive, and wading through your muso friend’s ever-pretentious song suggestions is less appealing than listening to Nickelback’s “Photograph” on repeat for the rest of time. We get it. To relieve your decision fatigue, we’ve asked the hottest rising artists to compile their favorite tracks of the minute.

Here, Charlotte Lawrence shares the songs to stop you diving off the deep end until the planets re-align.

1. Clairo, “Bags”

Clairo if you’re reading this, I have a crush on you.

2. Julia Jacklin, “Pressure to Party”

The dopest new artist my friend showed me. She’s such a poet.

3. Van Morrison, “Into the Mystic”

One of the all time classic beauties. That guitar…every time I think of Van Morrison it is that.

4. Mazzy Star, “Fade Into You”

She is one of my idols…every time this records plays it makes me feel high.

5. Aphex Twin, “#3”

The most calming song for me. Doesn’t matter what I’m feeling, when I put this song on everything becomes okay.

6. SYML, “WDWGILY”

Just listen to the song and you’ll get it.

7. Manchester Orchestra “The Gold – Phoebe Bridgers Version”

She’s one of my favorite artists.  Her voice and lyrics always calm me.

8. Nick Mulvey, “Fever To The Form”

This is my car jam, windows down at night driving around nowhere.

9. Amy Winehouse, “Stronger Than Me”

If you don’t have at least one song from Amy on your playlist then it’s not a playlist.

10. Pearl Jam, “Just Breathe”

Says it all in the title.
