Your favorite girl power group from elementary/middle school just might be getting back together. The Spice Girls met Friday for their first known reunion at the home of their manager, Simon Fuller, ET reported.
Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Emma (Baby Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), and Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice) last reunited at the London Olympics’ closing ceremony in 2012 for a performance. On Friday, Halliwell posted a photo of the five women posing on Instagram with the caption “Lovely seeing the girls #girlpower is alive and well.”
Hours later, the Spice Girls confirmed via press statement they would bring back that girl power in some way. No set plans are confirmed for the reunion, but it was reported by SkyNews that a few offers are TV projects in China, a new compilation album, and a television singing competition (omg).
“We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for the Spice Girls,” the group said in a statement. “The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together.”
