But today, Telfar is making the bag available permanently on his site — and he’s made it available in three different sizes to further sweeten the deal. From a clutch size perfect for city adventures to a larger carry-on bag, each size is available in black, tan and white.
Clemens, who won the 2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, is putting his winnings to good use, making his signature bag available 24/7. To celebrate, he partnered with longtime creative director Babak Radboy to photograph Clemens’s friends and family. Chef Danny Bowien also rocks two Shopping Bags, along with fellow models designer Ana Kras, model Selah Marley, and non-binary artist Sean-Kierre Lyons. Jamal Lewis aka Fat Femme and Vashtie also model the bags shot starkly and beautifully in an industrial space filled with piles of dirt. Shot by photographer June Canedo and styled by Avena Gallagher, the shoot for Telfar was a family affair.
“Telfar is very family,” Radboy told Vogue. “I’m married to Avena, his stylist; she was with him before me! And our son Malcolm starred in the Bambino video Telfar made. June was one of those people we already knew, she’d offer to shoot our shows, was part of the creative community. We wanted a photographer that had their own story; June has her own point of view, she’s a woman of color, directional in what she does—and a friend. We like that organic feeling. It’s not just calling up someone’s agent!”
