Duchess Meghan Markle can’t seem to catch a break. Markle’s father, Thomas, has spoken out to the press numerous times about his daughter and her husband Prince Harry. Now, he says that his most recent interview with the Daily Mail will be his last.
In May, ahead of the royal wedding, Thomas Markle worked with paparazzi to sell posed photographs of himself. In the photos, he’s supposedly getting fitted for a suit.
Thomas said, and maintains, that the photos weren’t for money, but to improve his public image. Following that, he landed in the hospital after having a heart attack.
Duchess Markle and Prince Harry called him up in the hospital. Prince Harry said to Thomas, “If you had listened to me this would never have happened.”
“Maybe it would be better for you guys if I was dead… then you could pretend to be sad,” Thomas Markle responded to Prince Harry.
“Then I hung up,” Thomas explains.
Looking back, he admits that Harry was “absolutely right” to criticize his behavior. But it’s Meghan that hurt him the most when she allegedly said he would not be allowed to make a speech at the royal wedding.
“That hurt,” Thomas said.
He added, “I’m not mad at Harry. I’m not mad at Meghan. I love them. I wish them well. But as for the rest of it, f*** it. I’m done.”
