The collab consists of just one product: a long-sleeve T-shirt with the Wikipedia logo. The bold, black logo in small font looks a bit Off-White-esque — it’s an unlikely but very cool partnership. The non-profit encyclopedia is edited by volunteers around the world and has done things like fight censorship in Turkey and sue the NSA for their mass internet surveillance. The proceeds from the shirt, priced at $85.00, will help fund the Wikimedia Foundation, the organization that supports the creation and editing of Wikipedia’s pages by volunteers.
Advisory Board said about the shirt: “Knowledge is power and awareness is survival. In addition to being a large source of inspiration and information for our projects, Wikipedia leads us to a place in which you can imagine a world where every single human being can freely share in the sum of all knowledge.”
Not much is known about the streetwear label, but a description on a site called slamjamsocialism.com describes APC as a brand “founded while sharing a Uber Pool ride in Los Angeles by Remington Guest and Heather Haber.” The label “aims to transfer crystals power to streetwear creating unique pieces who embrace the concept of ‘perfection of imperfections.’” Crystals and online knowledge? Sure!
The shirt is unfortunately sold out, but you can check out the design here.
