Zendaya and Drake Are Teaming Up for a New HBO Show

HBO’s new series Euphoria will be bringing together Zendaya and Drake in an adaptation of the 2012 Israeli series. The show will star Zendaya as a pathological liar who ensnares everyone around her into a world of sex and drugs.

Co-produced by Drake, the cast is full of young, rising stars from The Kissing Booth’s Jacob Elordi to Sydney Sweeney, who’s been in The Handmaid’s Tale and Sharp Objects. Maude Apatow, daughter of director Judd Apatow, will also be in the show along with A Wrinkle in Time’s Storm Reid.

The first clip of Euphoria was shared on Zendaya’s Instagram account, and though it’s short, the haunted look on her character Rue’s face conveys the mood. The HBO show will be Drake’s second foray into producing, with the first being the documentary The Carter Effect, which took an intimate look at the life of NBA star Vince Carter. In 2017, Drizzy told The Hollywood Reporter that he wanted to get more involved in film and television.

I’m sure I’ll stop [making music] one day. When it starts to feel like I’m making it up. Hopefully I’ll catch it before I ever get there, right? But right now it feels like we just started, so I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. But I do plan on expanding — to take six months or a year to myself and do some great films.

A new HBO series and a record-breaking album? Leave it to the 6 God.
