Ariana Grande Performs “Natural Woman” at Aretha Franklin’s Funeral

“You make me feel like a natural woman,” Ariana Grande crooned at Aretha Franklin’s funeral on Friday, August 31. The “Sweetener” singer flew to Detroit, where Aretha’s funeral is taking place at Detroit’s Greater Grace Temple.

Among the other acts who were in attendance at Franklin’s funeral, included Faith Hill, who sang, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” And Smokey Robinson sang his goodbyes as well to his “longest friend.” Robinson sang his song, “Really Gonna Miss You.”

According to CNN, Al Sharpton also read a letter from President Obama, that read, “Aretha Franklin rocked the world of anyone who had the pleasure of hearing her voice, whether bringing people together through thrilling intersections of genres or advancing important causes through the power of song, Aretha’s work reflected the very best of the American story.”
