We’ve been watching with growing excitement for nail color rules to be broken. Long gone are the days of the standard manicure—we’ve now witnessed a slew of french manicures with colored tips as well as rise in complicated, non-traditional designs, but it is Harry Styles who has ushered in the hottest—and easiest—trend of all.
In fact, while you were sleeping, Harry Styles became a nail sensation. First, there was the Met Gala, for which he debuted black and turquoise polish (there was also a very important pearl earring moment), and for his latest manicure he’s experimented with the same blue-green, coupled for the Gucci Cruise ’20 show with candy pink. The colors don’t correspond in the slightest, and that’s the point. Styles breaks the rules.
We’ve seen multi-colored nails on the rise for a moment now, declared by multiple outlets to be the trend everyone will be wearing into the warmer months. Last spring, it was SZA that debuted the style in “Garden,” painting her talons with various pastels and primaries.
