The ‘don’t wear white after Labor Day’ rule isn’t a rule we choose to even entertain. The age-old rule dates back to the 90s, when vacationers would pack up at the end of the summer and transition into a completely new wardrobe of darker colors like navy or gray into fall. These days, no one has a completely new wardrobe for every season–it’s all about pieces that you can mix and match, and hopefully feel good about buying season after season.
Like Tracee Ellis Ross pictured here, sometimes there is nothing chicer than a simple white t-shirt, or cool white boot to make a outfit have some contrast and simplicity. Regardless of your thinking on this very outdated rule, we’re looking forward to lots of white faux furs this winter, and winter whites in cozy silhouettes.
