A. Human Is Kim Kardashian’s New Favorite Art Exhibition

Imagine a world where instead of the tattoos-and-body-piercing brand of body modification, people were donning horned shoulders, alien implant necklaces, and other fantastical creations. This is the world Simon Huck’s upcoming exhibition A. Human explores, and celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Queer Eye’s Tan France are big fans.

In her Instagram Stories, Kardashian showed herself wearing a flesh-colored choker that looked like it was protruding out from her neck. “It moves to the rhythm of my heartbeat,” she explained. The prosthetic-like pieces are the creation of Huck’s “immersive theatrical art event” as the exhibition’s Instagram describes it.

Opening September 5, the event is four weeks only and will showcase its collection at 48 Mercer Street in Soho. The exhibition’s description states: A. Human uses set design, technology, prosthetics, live actors and more to blur the line between reality and fantasy, all while asking very real questions about our definitions of self-expression. Guests will enjoy a subversive playground filled with jaw-dropping sights, sounds, and experiences – including theatrical surprises directed by Michael Counts.”

Dubbing itself the future of fashion, the show will also feature collaborations with designer Nicola Formichetti and makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench. The experience will have you envisioning a future where you can change your body as easily as your clothes. But, as Huck explained to Vogue, it’s not about changing preexisting body insecurities.

“We didn’t want to root any of our modifications on the idea of existing insecurities or discomforts,” he says. “A. Human is about the freedom to explore this world and live in this world in any way you choose.”
