Fashion writer Anaa Saber has been on the scene since starting her blog, Our Second Skin, while a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology. What started as a classroom assignment quickly became a full-time career, propelling her to work with brands like Nike and Marc Jacobs. Her style is high-end meets athleisure meets streetwear, all infused with details from her Pakistani heritage. And though her Instagram feed is one giant outfit wishlist, Saber is currently focusing on being a more conscious consumer. Here, she shares how she does it all—with style.
Where do you live?
Anaa Saber: “New York City.”
Where are your favorite places to shop?
AS: “I haven’t been doing too much shopping these days because I’ve been trying to be more conscious of how much I consume. But when I do shop, some of my favorites are Assembly New York, Farfetch, Shopbop, Aritzia, Barney’s, Tokio 7, and Totokaelo.”
What brands are you loving right now?
AS: “Supriya Lele, Sacai, Area, Ashish, Simone Rocha…I respect each one of these designers’ crafts. They are so good at what they do.”
What are your go-to outfit essentials?
AS: “Definitely sneakers. They have been the one thing that has never changed in my wardrobe from way back when.”
Tell us your style philosophy.
AS: “Always and forever feel good in what you’re wearing. Nothing makes me feel more confident than wearing something special to me. Dress for yourself, for comfort, and for happiness.”
