“‘The Witches of Eastwick’ go to Palm Beach. Chasing the sun, they go South to spend long days playing bridge and sipping lemonade… and lots of champagne. They are a bit cooky, they might have lost it a bit… but they are still irresistible,” a statement for Attico’s Spring/Summer 2019 show reads, painting an image of the collection.
Indeed, this eccentric mish-mash of styles is, at least, visually irresistible. Seemingly, no textile, from marabou feathers to high-impact rainbow sequins, was off-limits in this collection that references “Bold Eighties,” “Forties” elegance, and “Twenties Art Deco” as design inspirations. The jewelry, designed in collaboration with Turkish designer Alican Icoz, is equally bold and delightful. In sum, it’s a feast for the eyes, even if you can’t picture yourself wearing any of it.
