The Cat-Themed Louis Vuitton x Grace Coddington Collection Is Here

Meow, ow, ow! The cat-themed Louis Vuitton x Grace Coddington collection is here, and this might be the house’s cutest collaboration yet.

Dubbed the “Catogram,” the collection was designed by Louis Vuitton’s Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière alongside the Coddington. A press release from the label describes the collection having an “audacious irreverence” that’s in “harmony with both Grace’s iconoclastic style and Ghesquière’s fascination with eccentricity — as well as reflecting their mutual adoration of animals.”

The animal-inspired collection features the Vogue contributor’s illustrations of her Persian cats, Pumpkin and Blanket, and Ghesquière’s dog Leon. The doodles are playfully displayed on bags, clothing, shoes and more. There will be a Louis Vuitton pop-up in New York City from Oct. 26 through Nov. 12, at which there will be exclusive pieces available.

Coddington spoke to Vogue about her friendship with Louis Vuitton’s creative director – and why she likes cats.

“Either you’re a cat person or a dog person and, in my case, I’m a cat person. I usually find I don’t like people who don’t like animals – it doesn’t matter whether it’s cats, or dogs, or horses, or mice, or guinea pigs…” she said.

On her collaboration with Ghesquière:

“We’d been talking about doing something together for about three years – and when I left Vogue to go freelance, we finally could. It was obvious that it was going to involve cats – but I very much wanted to involve his dog Léon, too. The collaboration is between Nicolas and I – and here we are personified through our animals, so to speak.”

The collection drops Nov. 2, and you can see every item from the capsule over on Fashionista.
