Cooped up, as the world finds itself (my hometown of Miami notwithstanding,) streaming has become our life lifeblood, and I find my life is imitating art more than ever. Well, at least in the wardrobe department.
Allow me to welcome you all, one at a time and wearing your most fabulous mask, to my fashion watchlist: A Watchlist for Fashion. Here I can help you achieve the famous looks that will have your quarantine buddy/pet/plant saying “pinch me, am I streaming?”
Rob from High Fidelity
This badass is probably the most fashionable woman currently on TV. This show will pull at your heartstrings until make you cry and laugh until you can’t cry and laugh anymore. Her style is an ode to teen boys from the 90’s and supposedly Zoe Kravitz had a big role in how her character looked. Need we say more?
Annie from Shrill
Her confidence level has inspired much of my writing and attitude and her outfits perfectly match that. Everything from her apartments aesthetic to her matching underwear sets have us dreaming of when we can express ourselves through fashion outwardly again.
Scully from X-Files
Her oversized blazers and coiffed hair have started an entire fashion movement. It’s almost impossible to attend a fashion event without seeing someone dressed as if they’ve just finished binging this entire tv show.
The girls from Stranger Things
While they are young and still growing, they’ve gained massive followings since the shows humble beginnings. The 80’s vibes have us inspired to want to wear shoulder pads and high side ponytails while we fight the unknown.
Patsy and Edina from Absolutely Fabulous
This duo of best friends has inspired so much of the way TV shows are styled today. They’ve been styled in looks from everyone to OG DKNY to Christian Lacroix. Truly some of the best styling and acting that has ever been on on a sitcom.
