Want to know more about the people behind some of Instagram’s coolest accounts? Introducing Street Noise, our answer to the trends happening on the streets—and on our feeds. We’re going straight to the source for intel on how it all goes down.
Dylan Cramps, style connoisseur and the visionary behind the soon-to-drop brand, World Trade, is slowly making her mark on New York City. Hailing from Nashville, Cramps credits her unique style, in part, to her infatuation with mixing southern and urban influences—a blend that feels so unique, and so her. Below, Cramps shares her favorite brands, her love of Afro-futuristic designers, and her go-to outfit essentials (hint: it involves cowboy boots).
Where do you live?
DC: “Currently, I live in Brooklyn, but I’m from Nashville (my favorite place ever!).”
Where are your favorite places to shop?
DC: “I only shop at thrift stores because of the affordability; all of my pieces are thrifted unless it’s from my brand, World Trade. My mom recently sent me a huge gift box from Forever 21, so that’s surprisingly been in rotation as well.”
What brands are you loving right now?
DC: “I love my brand World Trade because it is one-of-a-kind and is the closest to my heart. I also love MeetTheGuys, MOWALOLA, and Menyelek. These are my favorites right now because these are all black creatives who are pushing the boundaries about what I thought Afro-futuristic fashion could be.”
What are your go-to outfit essentials?
DC: “I love cowboy hats, cowboy boots, bootcut/flare jeans and anything else you would find down south. Paying homage to my country upbringing is my go-to look, because that’s the culture I’m from and I love repping it. Living in New York, I’m able to mix the city and the country, so really anything goes!”
Tell us your style philosophy.
DC: “Wear whatever the hell you want to! Don’t try to blend in, and only dress for yourself and no one else.”
