Meet Eve Fraser, The Manic Pixie Dream Girl Of Makeup

Very few moments in the day are as bare as the moment you wake up. We each have our own kinks and quirks that help us get out of bed, but few of us are brave enough to share them with the world. Introducing A Cool Morning, a deep dive into the intimate daytime rituals of our coolest friends and beauty innovators.

Eve Fraser may be a fine arts student by day, but she’s gained a fan-following for her dreamy, psychedelic beauty looks. Combining a kaleidoscopic blend of colors at ease, it’s clear to see that Eve knows her way around a makeup brush. But the real star of the show is her hair: her chameleon-like abilities allow her to change from neon green to a blush baby pink in a flash. In a world obsessed with the “no makeup”-makeup aesthetic, Eve has become a refreshing taste of color and whimsy that always spices up our Insta-feeds just a little more.

So, how does one of Instagram’s cools kids stay so, well, cool? With quick yoga seshes, ice cubes, and a little mascara — pretty simple for someone who tends to break the barrier with her creative makeup designs. Below, we delve deeper into Eve’s essential AM routine.

What’s the first thing you do every morning?

“Shamefully I go straight on my phone. It’s something I’m trying to stop, it means I don’t get up for about half an hour — not a good habit!”

Do you have a morning workout routine?

“If I’m not feeling too lazy (which is rare) I sometimes like to do a quick 15 minute yoga sesh just to get rid of any aches, and it seems to wake me up a bit.”

Shower at-night, morning, or both?

“I usually prefer showering at night just to get my full beauty schedule done, when I shower in the morning it usually makes me very late.”

Daily alarm time? How many times do you hit snooze?

“I always try and set my alarm for about 10am, although I end up hitting snooze for literally an hour, also a bad habit.”

If you’re running late, what’s the one thing you have to do?

“I always put on a little mascara, it makes me look a bit more awake and not like I just woke up five minutes ago.”

Favorite breakfast?

“Very boring but toast and tea, a classic breakfast meal.”

Weirdest morning beauty habit?

“I’ve started doing this thing where I put some ice cubes on my eyes to de-puff them, it looks pretty bizarre.”

What does your morning hair routine look like?

“Because I have coloured hair, I try to avoid washing it as much as possible so my go to is always Batiste Dry Shampoo. I’ve used it for years, it always adds a bit of volume and covers up my oily hair.”

How much time do you spend on your skincare routine?

“My skincare routine is usually pretty quick in the morning, I always use a quick face wash, the one I’m using currently is the Neogen Green Tea Foam Cleanser, followed my Pixi Glow Tonic and finished with Freck Beauty Moisturiser.”

How long do you usually take to get ready for the day?

“On an average day it takes me about half an hour at my quickest to face the day, sometimes it can take me over an hour if I’m being extra lazy.”

What’s the one product you could never leave the house without putting on?

“Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume!”

The first word/thing that popped into your head this morning?

“It was a panicked ‘what time is it’ because I managed to sleep in until 12 — would not recommend.”

Your favorite morning read?

“I wish I could say a classy novel but the only thing I read in the morning is Twitter”

What’s on your nightstand right now?

“I have a little cat alarm clock (which I never use), lavender pillow spray and of course my lamp.”

What’s the current ringtone on your alarm?

“I currently have a Sufjan Stevens song because it’s really relaxing and doesn’t make me wake up in sheer panic.”

Coffee, tea, or go-to morning drink?

“Forever and always tea.”

What’s the last thing you did before you headed out the door today?

“Quickly finished my tea in one massive gulp.”
